Mattress cleaning in Tampa
Eight hours a night, every night, in a bedroom that sits at 60 percent humidity. Sweat, skin oil, dust mites and the occasional accident go into the mattress and never come out on their own. Low-moisture extraction, dried with air movers, and you sleep on it the same night.
What’s actually in a Tampa mattress
Not a scare story — just what the extraction water looks like when we’re done.
Dust mites and their waste
Mites eat skin flakes and thrive above 50 percent humidity. Tampa bedrooms are ideal. Mite droppings are the actual allergen — the thing behind the morning stuffy nose and the eczema that flares at night.
Sweat and body oil
Around half a liter of sweat a night in summer. It leaves the yellow-brown shadow the shape of a body, and it’s what mildews when the mattress sits on a solid platform with no airflow.
Urine — kids, pets, older relatives
Same chemistry as carpet: salts left behind rehydrate in humid air and the smell returns. Needs enzyme treatment that reaches the foam, not a surface spray.
Mold spotting
Black speckles on the underside of a mattress on a platform bed. We’ll show you and tell you whether it’s surface (treatable) or into the foam (replace).
How we clean a mattress
About 45 minutes a side. Both sides if it’s a flippable mattress; top and edges on a pillow-top.
Dry vacuum with HEPA
Removes mites, skin flakes and dust before any moisture. This step alone takes out most of the allergen load.
Pre-treat
Enzyme on urine and sweat stains, oxidizer on yellowing. Dwell time while we work on the other side or the bed base.
Low-moisture extraction
Upholstery tool, hot water, immediate vacuum. The foam gets damp, not wet — a soaked mattress in this climate is a mold problem.
Air movers and check
Dried with air movers for an hour; we check the surface with a moisture meter before we leave. Optional mattress encasement fitted afterwards.
Honest limits
Yellowing
Fresh sweat stains lift well. Years-old yellowing is oxidized and usually lightens rather than vanishes.
Memory foam
Cleaned with minimal moisture only. It holds water, dries slowly and can delaminate. We’ll say if yours is one to leave alone.
Urine deep in the foam
Treatable when caught early. A years-old spot in a thick foam core may not fully go. We test and tell you.
Bed bugs
Not a cleaning problem — a pest-control one. We don’t treat them and we’ll tell you if we see signs.
